U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu is expected to visit Detroit's Cass Technical High School while attending the North American International Auto Show.
The district says Chu will tour robotics, chemistry, physics classrooms and labs at the school beginning Wednesday morning.
He also will meet students in science, technology, engineering and math programs at Cass, Davis Aerospace High School and Detroit International Academy.
The district is highlighting the programs with the start of preview days for the annual auto show at Detroit's Cobo Center.
