Unattracted to mate - Talk About Marriage

I need some real advice to help me maintain a healthy, happy relationship. I am not attracted to my partner physically. I would like to explain this further.

I met my partner during the end of a period of major crisis. I had lost whom I was, what I enjoyed, my health, etc.
When I first met my partner, I found him extremely unattractive. After getting to know him, and his "nice" personality, I fell for him.

Months after getting together, his "bad" personality came out. This personality lasted for almost a year! I was confused; thought that maybe all of my personal issues had caused me to change the way that I was seeing him. He was going through personal issues, and not dealing well. Needless to say, I was not attracted to him at all since I do not find him physically attractive.

He left the state for work, and I could not be more happy. I needed to be away from him. A couple months after he left, his personality changed back and he repented for all his sins. We worked through our problems via long distance. (I'm not saying that I was perfect during our hard times, please don't mistake that)

During this time, I finally was able to work on me. I got my health back. I was always a fitness freak, but during my personal issues I had gained 50 lbs! I am now back to working out everyday. I am in good shape (not back to where I was, but I rock a bikini - size 4).

We are now able to live together again. I am attracted to him emotionally, but not physically. I am able to live the active lifestyle I love again, and he is obese and cannot keep up (nor does he want to). I would like to plan my life with him, but I am afraid that he will end up in poor health long before me. If we spend time together, we have to sit and watch tv.

I worry that I mislead him by being overweight when we started dating. I told him how I used to be when we started dating. Now that I am back to my old self, we just don't match. How can I keep up physical attraction to him? What do you do to make yourself more attracted to your mate?
